About Us

The wine bar is a quaint, rustic 35 seat bar situated marina side
in one of Key West's long time, popular resorts, The Galleon.
Wine By The Water's menu consists of over 30 wines by the glass, flights
to fancy and a boutique vineyard bottle wine list. The food side of
the menu includes light tapas fare, a selection of gourmet chesses and
house made desserts.

Co-owner and amateur chef Tami Lynch-McGrail wanted to create a place
where people could go for an experience, and not just another glass or
plate of "ordinary."
"I want people to be able to be introduced to new foods and wines that they
might not otherwise have the opportunity to do so" says Tami.
"After a long day of work for locals or an interlude for a visitor,
I want to be able to treat them to a special libation or food creation."

Tami is not a chef by trade, she has had a career in marketing and
advertising which has included restaurants. She loves food and wine,
and has traveled many places near and far which has given her the ability
to create amazing dishes.

Coupled with her new found friend, wine afficianado and bar manager
Melissa Boardman, the two have created a winebar that offers a unique dining experience.

After working for top restaurants and chefs such as Marco Pierre White and Quo Vadis and
MPW in London, Melissa made the move to NYC’s premier wine retailer, Morrell & Co.
During her 6 years with Morrell, Melissa was in charge of all American wine purchasing,
Director of wine events, and was a top salesperson. Morrell has been rated the best winebar
in NYC for the past 6 years!

Melissa moved to Florida to start up a boutique wine distributor and eventually
make her way to Key West.

"I missed having great cheeses and esoteric wines at my fingertips. When Tami
proposed this winebar idea I knew exactly where we should take it.
I created a list consisting of everything from a Classic cali cab
to a Verdjo from 130 year old vines and banyuls dessert wine.
Our Wine and Cheese list changes weekly. We have our cheeses shipped from
Murray's Cheese shop in NYC because they offer a selection of over 500 cheeses!
This is a place you can come and eat, drink and just relax or learn a little
